12 thoughts of a skyrunning champion on mountains, climbing and barriers

The silence was so perfect that my own breathing seemed to disturb the peace. I stopped breathing for half a minute and felt how I merge with everything that surrounds me, become one with nature, like some small and insignificant snowflake, which was lucky to fall from the sky right here. The zigzag line in the snow, disappearing where the glacier turned behind the mountains, reminded me that I was just a visitor here and that soon I would have to return to the human world. But I wanted this moment to last forever. I was free from any hassle, my only task was to breathe. Intoxicated by the height, I had no thoughts in my head. How good it is up here!
